i am not sure if i’ve ever shot a wedding full of this much joy. okay, i probably have (because i have a million amazing clients who are really , exceptionally joyful on their wedding days). but thinking back to this wedding, joy is the one word that i think describes the day perfectly.

becca + ross are such genuine, kind-hearted individuals with a really beautiful love. their colorado wedding at the inverness hotel was simple and lovely and so much fun.

their ceremony was so sweet, full of scriptures and laughs and tears (maybe more from the sweet groom than the bride…), and they headed straight to an energetic party after! i loved all of the focus on close friends and family, the overcast skies, + all of the guests’ killer dance moves!

and have you ever seen a more gorgeous couple?! seriously. i may not have been able to help myself with the huuuge amount of photos on this post…

in my house growing up, christmas celebrating was always reserved as the next step after thanksgiving ended. don’t get me wrong, we love christmastime around here just as much as the next family, but my mom always wanted to properly support and celebrate thanksgiving, which i’m allll about. i mean, what’s better than the season of gratitude, family, and food?

but since we’ve made it through thanksgiving and black friday and all of that craziness, it’s time to officially kick off the holiday season!

and what better way than to showcase one of my favorite december weddings via a happy little video. jake + amber got married on the snowiest of days last december. the wedding video centers around their ceremony in the salt lake city lds temple, their luncheon at the joseph smith memorial building, + their reception later that evening.

jake + amber are like family to me, so it was such a pleasure to take part in their day. i loved getting to capture their love and wedding moments (both via photo and video… photos to come soon!)

can’t wait to keep the holiday spirit coming around these parts!

don’t get me wrong, i love summer weddings. but lately, i’ve been drawn to fall and winter weddings because of the ability to incorporate bolder color schemes, more unique ideas, + a bit more glimmer.

today i’m so excited to share with you a shoot that screams november (!!!) and bridges the gap between both fall + winter and modern + vintage perfectly. i was inspired by the modern charcoal and gold invitations and wanted to balance the modern vibes with the perfect amount of vintage flair.

i teamed up with some of salt lake city’s most talented wedding vendors to pull together my vision; and i think it turned out beautifully!

i wanted to feature the talented betsy couture’s gold “audrey” dress and use the depot at union station in salt lake for this wedding inspiration shoot; can you believe how gorgeous that tiled floor is?! i balanced the vintage and modern again with the delicate (but a little bit funky) place setting, the vintage shoes and veil, and the gold, glitter-glazed cake… not to mention the unique floral arrangements!

my darling/hilarious cousins from plein air design helped with the styling, and i joined forces with another local talent from natalie felt photography  to carry out the vision!

my model, gracie (who also happens to be a sweet friend!), pulled it all together for us and looked so sweet and beautiful. i can honestly say that this is one of my favorite shoots to date!

and it wouldn’t be just to not give credit to all of my talented vendor friends. i can sincerely recommend any one of them to you all.
