jake + amber // wedding luncheon // salt lake city, ut

i’m reaching into the archives a bit tonight to share one of my favorite winter weddings to date– and just in time for these two’s one-year anniversary!

amber + jake’s salt lake city lds temple wedding last december was one of the snowiest i’ve ever been to! there were fluffy snowflakes falling throughout the entire day, leaving the most magical environment for a winter wedding. after their sealing in the lds temple, there was an intimate luncheon planned in the neighboring joseph smith memorial building (one of my personal favs for weddings!). the luncheon was filled with delectable food, a gorgeous view of the temple, and the sharing of many, many sweet memories and words.

i have known jake as long as i can remember. his family is my family; we grew up together and continue to travel together to this day. he’s one of the most driven, sensible people i know, and when he loves something, he treats it well. amber is lucky enough to be that something that he loves, and the more i get to know her, the more i’m impressed by her. she’s smart, down-to-earth, and kind– a killer combination. and i’m not sure if i’ve ever seen someone glow as much as she did on her wedding day. seriously beautiful!

i a loved getting to photograph this event amidst so many of my favorite people, so many of my family and friends!

and if you’d like a real-action glimpse into their lovely wedding, be sure to view their winter wedding video here.

there’s nothing like that view! or a beautiful wedding so full of love. happy one-year to the corkins!

and if you like what you’ve seen, check back in a few days for corkin wedding round #3– their colorado reception!

anna

elise + esteban // holiday inspiration shoot // part one // morrison, co

things i love about my best friend elise: 1. her love for life 2. how she makes the people around her love their lives 3. her cuba tattoo on her wrist. 4. her willingness to let me photograph her.

okay, there are about a billion other things i love about elise, but those are what come to mind at this moment, in regards to this shoot. elise loves christmas more than almost anyone i know, so when i proposed the idea of doing a stylized inspiration portrait session based around the holidays, she was on board in about .31 seconds. she grabbed her willing (and awesome!) boyfriend, esteban, and we concocted up a list of holiday ideas. the list was filled with glitter and gold (yeah i know, now i’ve got you singing smash mouth) and one of my favorite food groups– hot cocoa.

some of my favorite details? elise + esteban’s smiles. that ring (an antique from elise’s grandmother!). the warm hues of the images. the overall cheer radiating from these shots.

i love christmastime.

i love these guys.

i love love.

i can’t wait to share part two of this shoot (think carefree christmas… mistletoe + christmas light tangles + shooting till sunset). coming soon!

XO,

anna

sydney + david // engagements // big cottonwood canyon, ut

sometimes, you meet people and you feel like it’s just meant to be.  and with sydney + david, i just feel like we were meant to be. meant to be friends. meant to work together on their wedding day. meant to celebrate together. not only do i love to photograph their sweet love, we have so much in common… so much to talk about! sydney served an LDS mission in madrid (the city that stole my heart when i studied abroad there), and david is a peruvian transplant (and given my current love situation, i’ve definitely got a soft spot for this, too). how do i get so lucky and end up with the best of clients?

these two are supremely wonderful individuals. and together, they make the most fun-loving, laugh-inducing pair! they’re full of light and love and so much joy. we had the greatest fall afternoon, exploring the canyons and snapping a few photos along the way.

i love these two. and their peru pride and peru shirts.

i seriously cannot wait for their wedding in a month to capture a little bit (lot) more of their goodness!

tim + shana // wedding // meridian, id

the holiday season is the greatest. every time that november and december roll around, everything just seems a bit happier. and i think a lot of it has to do with the emphasis placed on family during this season! all of the extra family gatherings, the little phone calls and text messages, the game nights, the service projects… all of it!

and i’m particularly grateful because of the exceptional family i’ve been blessed with. i’ve been so lucky to have been raised among so many people who have become my best friends– my brothers and parents and cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents– all of them! they’ve been a constant source of love and support and a constant source of laughter + entertainment! some of my fondest memories involve my family members from both sides of the family.

this summer, one of my favorite people on earth got married, and i had the pleasure of capturing her wedding! my aunt shana is one of the kindest, most generous people that i know. she’s remarkable, really– so intelligent, caring, fun, and beautiful. she’s one of those people that everyone likes to be around, always giving great advice and making life exciting. and she is so supportive. in high school, she (along with my other aunt) drove for 12 hours overnight from idaho to colorado, just to surprise me and cheer me on during my state championship tennis match. did i mention she’s the greatest?

well, shana met her perfect match in tim (who just so happens to be the nicest guy!), and they tied the knot this summer up in meridian, idaho. shana and tim had a lovely catholic wedding ceremony at the holy apostles catholic church in meridian followed by an intimate dinner party at a nearby italian restaurant, gino’s. their ceremony was sweet and spiritual, and the dinner celebration was full of laughs, tears, a bunch of my favorite people, + some divine italian cuisine.

i just love these guys so much; i may or may not have had to include a photo of myself with my sweet aunt (can you spot it?!)

i love these people and this wedding so much. can everyone in my family just get married and let me photograph their love? yeah?

anna
