carefree family portraits // phoenix, az

although i specialize in wedding photography, i occasionally get the pleasure of shooting beautiful family and senior portraits.

and do you want to talk about one of the most enjoyable portrait sessions of my life? a few months ago, i had the opportunity to head to phoenix and photograph the prettiest couple and their darling children. we had the best time exploring the streets of downtown phoenix and laughing all the way.

i loved photographing these guys and especially the children– they reminded me of the joy of childhood! and if they’re not the most photogenic little things in the whole world, i don’t know what is…!

the mom of the family is such an inspiration. she’s a well-known blogger who started a non-profit to help inner-city youth get into college. so cool. you can check out her blog/cause here.

XO.

every occasion is an excuse for family photos  to capture those precious moments! need family portraits in colorado, utah, or anywhere really?! e-mail me, and we’ll  set up a portrait sitting.

adam + eden engagements // provo, ut

the only thing i like more than my friends getting married is when my friends get married and let me photograph them!

adam was one of my closest friends through high school– my junior year prom date even! after serving a two-year lds mission in puerto rico and returning to attend brigham young university, he met his sweetheart, eden. and after a whirlwind summer romance (part of which was long distance so adam could teach incoming lds missionaries in mexico city), they decided to tie the knot and set a wedding date for six weeks later.

we met up for an early fall engagement session in provo, utah and took advantage of provo’s beautiful canyon scenery. we wanted to play off the colorful contrasts of the river, mountains, and trees. i loved getting to capture these two’s love and very apparent adoration. adam made eden laugh endlessly, and he was pretty happy himself; he couldn’t wipe a smile off his face the whole time!

congratulations, adam + eden! i love your love.

XO.

are you engaged or soon-to-be engaged and need a wedding photographer? i shoot in utah, colorado– all over the globe– so let’s chat and set up a consultation so that i can bring you gorgeous, timeless engagement images.

brandon + jana groomals // idaho falls, id

i had the chance to photograph the most beautiful couple in idaho falls, idaho the evening before their wedding day. jana + brandon opted for a pre-wedding groomals session to ease the pressure on their big day.

fortunately, we were graced with gorgeous overcast lighting (despite the crazy downpour on their actual wedding day!) and plenty of time to explore the site of their wedding–the idaho falls lds temple. we ended the session by crossing the river and taking photos next to the falls themselves!

jana + brandon are such a sweet couple with a genuine love. i loved shooting the night before their wedding; it was so fun to hear their excitement and work out the pre-wedding jitters. and did i mention they’re beautiful? check out jana’s gorgeous brown eyes! to die for.

and if you think this is pretty, just wait until you see their wedding! every detail was perfect.

XO.

engaged, and looking for a lds temple photographer in idaho falls (or elsewhere?!) let’s talk! i’d love to capture your special days and have limited availability still for winter 2013 and spring 2014.

country-indie bridal inspiration // eagle, id

so sorry i’ve been MIA the last little bit. i came down with a nasty virus and spent my week in doctors’ offices and engrossed in grey’s anatomy, too sick to whip out the laptop and update you all. BUT i’m on the mend, and i figured it’s time to share this beauty from the spring.

now that it’s officially november, the weather out here in the rockies is officially going to stink. i mean, it’s already forty-three degrees here in colorado, and it’s just going to get worse from here!

so i’ll introduce you to the gorgeous kaileigh and share with you the inspiration behind our country-indie-folk bridal shoot. while in boise, idaho this past may, kaileigh and i headed out into the wild, wild west (fields of brush and some rolling hills just outside eagle, idaho) to capture the perfect, relaxed country bridal influence with an indie twist. we loved the combination of the fabric floral details of the shabby apple dress, kaileigh’s tattoos, the turquoise engagement ring, and the classic cowboy boots.

throw in the pretty idaho backdrop and killer sunset, and you’ve got…

like the down-home country vibes of this shoot? you’re not the only one!

this gorgeous bridal inspiration shoot was lucky enough to be featured in the texas-based wedding blog, the wedding connection. you can find the feature here.
