this spring, i had the privilege and honor of being featured on burnett’s boards as part of the bridal inspiration shoot contest, alongside some of denver’s most talented wedding vendors (and up against some of the nation’s most incredible wedding vendors– i’m telling you, such an honor!). i got to shoot beautiful people in beautiful clothing surrounded by beautiful details in my beautiful BACKYARD (more or less!… i love that manor house!) it all was such  dream.

sometimes, there are just those shots that make you really believe in love.

i really, really love these two, and i really, really love viña del mar, chile.

living in utah ended up being one of the best things for my career, artistically speaking. after being a wedding photographer there for three years, i finally learned a thing or two about collaborating and networking and meeting your creative soul mates (so to speak).

when i was visiting utah earlier this spring, i was just itching to shoot something beautiful! so i started scheming to figure out just what i wanted to shoot, called up a dear photo friend (natalie over at natalie felt photography), and the rest is history.

this little session with erika is part one of a five-part shoot on bridal hair inspiration. featuring two of the insanely talented danani handmade’s hairpieces and flawless makeup done by sarah burton, these portraits of the unbelievably beautiful erika rank as some of my favorites to date! i loved getting to work with such a photogenic (and kind!) model, and highlighting these stunning hairpieces was just a little bit too much fun.

i’m reaching back into the archives from 2013 to share another favorite couple!

maybe it’s my obsession with friday night lights (anyone with me on this one? anyone?), or maybe it’s that southern hospitality, but i just really, really love texas. so imagine my happiness when i had the opportunity to shoot three weddings in texas last season!

chris + emma were a beyond fabulous pair to work with. i’ve never met a more relaxed couple on their wedding day– and i’m not exaggerating! they were just so happy to be married; amidst the stress of the day and crazy winds outside the lubbock, tx, lds temple, they were all smiles!

chris is my second-cousin turned great friend, and he found an amazing wife in emma. they’re sweet and down-to-earth and happily in love. and expecting a little one this summer!

i’m thrilled to know them, and i was thrilled to get the chance to shoot their texas wedding last summer. i loooved the mini session we snuck in at dusk in that open field!
