as destination wedding photographers and videographers, we’ve come up with a few rules. one of them is: when you’re asked to shoot a wedding in spain, always say síííí! especially when it’s planned by the incredibly talented mery liccardi eventi.
so when they asked us to photograph this marbella spain wedding at the gran hotel guadalpin, a gorgeous five-star hotel on the southern coast of spain, we were absolutely thrilled! we were even more excited when we got to know mara + michele because they’re the sweetest couple.
mara is from málaga, and michele is from the netherlands, so the pair decided to tie the knot away from both of their home towns, in an intimate ceremony on the beach with their loved ones and adorable young daughter. after their twilight ceremony, we took advantage of the dreamy Spanish coast and snapped a few wedding portraits.
the party continued with the most incredible multi-course meal. you guys, spaniards reaaaally know how to party! there were all those wine glasses at the tables for a reason. one of the most impressive parts for us was to witness the party. in true andalucian style, the guests got down with flamenco music, and it really was the coolest thing to see. we looked at each other over and over again during the reception like, “is this real life?!”
mara looked so fashionable in her pronovias gown, and michele complimented her perfectly in his light blue suit. and can we talk about their darling baby girl for a second? so stinkin sweet. we loved every minute of their celebration, and their wedding reaffirmed our desire to retire in spain (though a career as a spanish wedding photographer doesn’t seem too bad either!).
we loved seeing this wedding up on destination wedding details over the summer. we can’t wait to return to spain this year for a canary islands wedding and for the chance to work with our amazing amiga mery again! brides-to-be, head on over to her site to see some specials she’s got going right now!
michele + mara, you’re the loveliest. les damos muchas gracias con todo de nuestras corazones.

somehow we’ve struck gold time and time and time again with our clients. as baltimore wedding photographers, we are fortunate enough to have the chance to capture beautiful events, but we also luck out with the most heartfelt weddings ever. and katie and tony’s stunning baltimore inner harbor wedding was no exception. alllll the tears, you guys! being 26 weeks pregnant didn’t help on that front, either 😉
after photographing their spring engagement session during tulip season in roland park, we knew these two were our kind of people– so sweet, laid-back, fun, and serious pup lovers. so it’s natural that we had been looking forward to their wedding for months!
their wedding planned by the incredible moore & co. events was packed to the brim with a mix of classic and contemporary details, lovely florals, and so much fun dancing! katie looked absolutely gorgeous in her maggie sottero gown, and her look was tied together with flawless makeup and hair and soft blush bridal details. and can we talk about that ring for a minute?! definitely what bridal dreams are made of. tony and his groomsmen looked so dapper in their coordinating tuxes, too.
their harbor side wedding ceremony at the frederick douglass maritime museum was so idyllically baltimore and very sentimental. the love that these two have for each other is truly remarkable. and it showed in every aspect of their wedding! their day was littered with thoughtful little gifts from one to another with the sweetest love notes. after a cocktail hour by the breezy pier, they celebrated with a fun and intimate reception in the contemporary reception space overlooking the water. we were graced with the most beautiful golden lighting for portraits and a pretty sunset. and lots and lots of sprinkles.
this bright fall wedding was another one for the books! congratulations, mr. & mrs. hoffer!

aaaand, we’re back! (again!)
every year, we promise we’re going to be better about blogging. and every year, we end up getting so caught up in the doing that the blogging doesn’t happen. but we have sooo many amazing weddings, films, and sessions to share, and we are determined to make it happen! so let’s get going!

there are about a thousand things about spring that we just can’t get enough of. the feeling of everything thawing out (our toes included!), the renewed energy, the disappearance of mostly-gray skies, and the cherry blossoms. one of the best parts of being a washington d.c. wedding photographer is getting to witness the blooming and celebration of these beautiful blossoms every march and april. there’s just something so magical about them; they’re endlessly fluffy and bring such a lightness to the environment.
so we were naturally thrilled when hannah and tim picked a beautiful april day for their engagement photos and wanted to take them outdoors! the couple met while attending college down south and were visiting tim’s family back in maryland. they chose tim’s family farm as the location for their engagement session, and they honestly couldn’t have picked a better location! the property was littered with beautiful farm houses, white-washed barns, and acres and acres of pretty landscapes. not to mention so many memories for tim and his family!
fun fact: we have been lucky enough to photograph members of tim’s family more than once! we photographed one of his gorgeous cousins in this eastern shore engagement session in maryland, and another gorgeous cousin at this pond view farm wedding, to name a couple.
hannah and tim are such a kind couple and have a very sweet relationship. we loved getting to know them and having the opportunity to spend the afternoon walking around the farm and chatting. we heard their new year’s eve wedding in north carolina was so great– and we’re so happy we could document a small part of their love story!
thanks for having us along, you two! XO.
in honor of independence day today + this country we feel blessed to live in, we’re sharing a classic elopement shoot in the heart of the nation’s capital: washington, d.c.! we are so lucky to live in such an amazing place; we love the mix of cultures and history here, and as washington d.c. wedding photographers, we’re so lucky to be able to photograph some of the most beautiful weddings and show off that classic d.c. architecture so often!
when my sweet photographer friend came to visit from san francisco, we decided that we wanted to get our creative juices flowing and shoot together in the city! we teamed up with bhldn to put together a romantic elopement, highlighting those classic d.c. vibes, and we’re so thrilled with how all came together. we were able to work with some of the most talented creatives, which made everything even better! rebecca looked incredible in her bhldn gown (can you believe the pattern on that lace?!), and cedar & lime co. busted out such a cool overgrown, garden-style bouquet of fresh peonies and greens.
i’ll also forever love those sweet vow books, stunning pear-shaped solitaire from the sweet susie saltzman, and charming “just married” elopement announcement postcards from kara hill calligraphy. one of the highlights of the entire process was the honor of getting the shoot published on one of our favorite wedding blots, glamour & grace!
we had the best evening exploring union station (i don’t know if we’ll ever get over that architecture!) and finished the evening with a twilight vow exchange alongside the potomac at the jefferson memorial, with views of the washington monument and city lights glowing in the background. we’ll forever love jefferson memorial wedding photos, and this is no exception! rebecca + jason share such apparent affection for one another, which was so natural to show off in these photos and in their d.c. wedding video (make sure to watch in hd!)
thanks so much to all of the amazing vendors who contributed to this shoot! and a special thanks to glamour & grace for showing it off so beautifully. happy birthday, america! wishing you all a safe + enjoyable fourth from d.c.!

anna + mateo

bonjour! hola! halló!
you guys, we’re still alive and well over here. i don’t want my lack of presence on the blog to come across as a lack of interest, because, really, we’ve been working + exploring + loving life, and have so many beautiful photos to show for it! we had the best time on our trip to europe last month, and can’t wait to share more of the goodness with you (and some stories, like how we got stuck in an icelandic snowbank and were saved by two belgian cross-country skiers who hadn’t seen any other humans for two full weeks), but for now, i’ll just leave these little goodies here to get you all excited!
hope you’re all having the perfect spring! the weather is glorious here in d.c.! (come visit!!!)
