living within driving distance of new york city has been the most fun. the most fun! it’s the best to be able to zip up to the city to photograph and film manhattan weddings and new york city engagement sessions. but really, like we actually need an excuse to stop by our favorite spots to take in the views and nosh on our favorite meals!
when our bff from san francisco, kirsten of knw photography, came to visit, we naturally had to do some beautiful shoots, so we head to the city for this beautiful new york city elopement shoot. to tell the story, we photographed in two of the most iconic places in new york: the brooklyn bridge and central park!
shelby and chase talked about how they always wanted a city elopement but ended up marrying locally so their families could be present. because of this, they were perfect for this shoot! these two are the kindest and most stylish couple and were so wonderful to photograph! they were ever patient with all of the tourists on the bridge asking to snap photos of them, and they have perfect chemistry.
i loved the ethereal bhldn dress and cathedral-length veil. when the wind caught the veil, it was absolutely dreamy! shelby looked perfect with her relaxed bridal braid and natural makeup, and chase was her perfect compliment in his well-tailored suit.
the bhldn and susie saltzman bling looked amazing, and the garden-inspired bouquet by bahtoh added a slight touch of whimsy. in true new york fashion, we brought a bit of quirkiness to the shoot with fun “we did it!” elopement announcements by kara hill and a unique getting ready hotel.
we are thrilled to see the shoot featured on wedding chicks. if you think there’s anything more romantic than exchanging vows at bethesda fountain in central park, take a look at these photos, and we might just prove you wrong!

in the past, we’ve specialized in d.c. and destination wedding photography and videography, which has brought us immeasurable amounts of joy. and don’t get us wrong, we still absolutely love that portion of our jobs. but as our own family has grown and changed, we’ve taken interest in capturing the progression from families of two to families of three (or four or five or ten!!!). being able to witness the adoration of new parents and all of those first, tiny smiles and yawns is simply heartwarming.
which is why we are so thrilled to announce a new section of our business: lifestyle newborn photos and films. we want to be there to capture these new, exciting stages of your little family’s lives. and by offering both photography and films, we’re able to capture the precious mannerisms of your newborn, as well as the sweet details of their nursery and those irreplaceable early interactions. if you’re expecting and want to capture these precious moments, shoot us a message, and we’ll chat about how to make your in-home, lifestyle newborn session absolutely perfect.
and this brings us to…
one of our first newborn sessions we ever photographed: sweet charlotte skye. this little family of three were nothing short of heavenly. we spent the afternoon in charlie’s nursery, as they loved up on their darling new girl. even though they had only been parents for a few days at this point, matt + emily were absolute pros. charlie was already so loved, and the connection she and her parents shared was obvious.
charlie girl has the porcelain skin of her mama and beautiful dark hair of her dad… and a dimple that she got from both parents! her mom decorated her nursery in the prettiest hues of neutral and blush, and that airplane shelf was actually part of her dad’s nursery when he was a baby! how cool is that?! it’s been so fun to watch charlie grow up and to see her family continue to love her. i was lucky enough to photograph and film her parents’ wedding a few months after we did this shoot, and let me tell you, those are one for the books too! i cannot wait to share.
but in the meantime, enjoy these photographs and the precious newborn film at the end. i dare you not to tear up!
we love you bourdons!

anna + mateo
escaping to different corners of the globe to photograph beautiful destination weddings is by far one of the best parts of being destination wedding photographers and videographers. while we love our home base of washington, d.c., there’s nothing more inspiring than photographing love stories in the midst of exotic cultures, beautiful locations, and adventurous vibes.
so we were naturally thrilled when we were asked to photograph and film deena and john’s riu palace aruba wedding. we love south america, so flying to one of the caribbean islands off of the coast of venezuela sounded incredible, and aruba definitely met all expectations! the island’s slogan is “one happy island,” and we’d definitely say that’s an understatement.
we loved getting to meet deena + john. they have such a genuine love, and their entire focus of their whole aruba destination wedding was that everyone else have the best weekend. they love vacationing in the caribbean and got engaged in jamaica, so it seemed like a no-brainer for them to choose a caribbean island for their wedding. their families and fiends came from new jersey and beyond to a weekend full of sunshine and festivities.
deena looked amazing in her angel rivera dress + shiny jimmy choos, and john was her perfect compliment in his custom khaki suit. their simplistic details allowed the focus to be on the beautiful couple, gorgeous light blue water and endless aruba skies. it’s obvious that they are best friends and share a deep admiration for each other!
after a beach ceremony, the couple celebrated during cocktail hour with a steel drum band and appetizers, then danced the night away with their guests. we can’t wait to share with you their fun aruba wedding film and day after trash the dress session in aruba.
but first, their gorgeous wedding…!
thanks for letting us be part of your wedding celebration, j+d!
XO,
anna + mateo

elice + olumide are two of those people who you want to become best friends with the instant you meet them. though we often meet our clients before our first photo session with them, i didn’t know neither elice nor olumide, so i had no idea who i was looking for when we were set to meet at the beginning of their engagement session.
i remember looking around the portrait gallery and seeing an incredibly handsome couple approaching me with a change of clothes in hand, and i thought, “whoa.” they’re effortlessly stylish and have a certain glow about them. they picked the best locations that made for neutral backdrops and kept us warm from the chilly, spring wind!
as a washington, d.c. wedding photographer, it’s so fun to get to explore parts of the city with my clients during engagement sessions and during portrait time on wedding days. we spent the first part of the afternoon wandering the smithsonian national portrait gallery (and trying to not catch every saturday family outing in the background!), and it was just so very pleasant. we then head over to the lincoln memorial just before sunset to take advantage of the pretty dusk light.
these two have such an incredible love story and lead really beautiful lives. olimude is from england (and has the accent to boot!), and both of them work for NGOs in international development, which warms my humanitarian heart. they both have lived and worked abroad extensively and chose to wed in elice’s favorite place on earth, cape town!
i’m not sure if i have ever laughed more during a photo session. these two kept each other smiling continuously (and i mean continuously!) throughout the afternoon, and i absolutely loved capturing their joy.
thank you for allowing me to capture a tiny bit of your love story, you guys! sending you all the love in the world.
XO,
anna
one of the greatest parts of working as a baltimore wedding videographer is having the chance to see different couples’ styles and wedding-day visions come to life! we have photographed and filmed baltimore harbor weddings, beach weddings on the eastern shore, small weddings in industrial spaces, country chic farm weddings, elegant ballroom weddings… just to name a few!
while our artistry lends itself to everything romantic, we’re lucky enough to get to show off the different vibes and themes that our lovely clients so carefully plan! and fran and enrico’s four seasons baltimore wedding was no exception! the couple prepped at the hotel (one of our all-time favorites in the city!) with views overlooking the harbor, then celebrated with close friends and family with an upscale ceremony and reception at the iconic hippodrome.
with the help of the talented charlotte jarrett events, fran planned the most elegant city wedding that matched her theatre venue perfectly. she was absolutely glowing in her custom gown that featured an illusion neckline and tulle overlay for the ceremony, which she removed for the second portion of the day to reveal a simple, sleek train with buttons all the way down. her look was completed with sparkly silver jimmy choos and a coordinating purse, as well as a soft, fluffy bouquet of neutral peonies and roses. enrico looked dapper in his tux, and when they rolled up together in that bentley, they definitely turned heads!
their evening was filled with happy tears, hugs from friends and family, and a huge spread of amazing food. the couple and their friends danced the night away to an incredible, fun live band. we loved capturing all of the different facets and emotions of their day (and the details… just wait until you see all of the details!) and are grateful to have met this sweet couple.
congratulations, fran + enrico! XO.
