okay you guys, so we have been fortunate to be part of this crazy, wonderful industry for nearly ten years now! as d.c. and destination wedding photographers and videographers, we have the chance to photograph the greatest couples in some of the most amazing places on earth– from windswept weddings in new york city to intimate elopements in cozumel to romantic weddings in southern spain.
it’s always such a pleasure to have the opportunity to join two of our passions: travel and art. aaaand connecting with people (so i guess you could say three of our passions!). so when we were in europe last spring for some work, we were lucky enough to connect with the sweetest couple for a mini anniversary session in paris. alyssa + ryan are phenomenal photographers in their own right and had saved up for a few years to celebrate their fifth anniversary in the city of lights.
naturally, they wanted it documented, so we met up with them early one morning for a sunrise anniversary session at trocadero. because is it even a photo session in paris if you don’t have the eiffel tower in the background?! we were blessed with soft, diffused light and a nearly-empty backdrop for photographs.
these two are so, so sweet and have perfect chemistry. and they’ve of course got the whole posing thing locked down! we would take their photos in any european city, any day of the week 😉
after our mini photo session, mateo and i head down to champs-elysees to walk around the arc de triomphe (heeey, tourists! that’s us) and nosh on the flakiest croissants and freshest omelets for breakfast. even though we’re not necessarily morning people, we could get on board with more sunrise sessions if it meant photos like this and incredible french breakfasts afterwards!
after seeing these photos, who wants to meet us in paris for their next anniversary?! the crepes will be on us.

after living in baltimore a few years ago, we were able to scope out our fair share of the venues. and while there are so many amazing options, one of the best baltimore wedding venues in our opinion is the four seasons hotel! there’s nothing like the sophisticated, light, and elegant feel of the hotel. and with a perfect view of the harbor and an amazing rooftop, you really can’t do better!
so photographing k+b’s four seasons baltimore wedding was naturally a dream come true. it’s funny because even though it has been a couple of years, they chose such classic styles that they could’ve gotten married yesterday, and you wouldn’t have ever known! they made it so easy to take timeless wedding photographs. and on top of that, they’re so kind and hopkins alums too! so it doesn’t get much better than this.
after prepping in the bridal suites, the couple was wed in an intimate (and windy!) rooftop ceremony. the cool breeze made for the perfect ambiance on a hot june day, and brad and kristen shared heartfelt vows during a sweet ceremony. we then explored harbor east for a few moments to capture these beautiful baltimore harbor wedding portraits.
the reception was joyful and celebratory, and a highlight of the night was sneaking to the roof after sunset for some photographs highlighting the iconic domino sugar lights across the harbor.
i loved everything about this black, white, and gold wedding. from her classic ivory gown to the fluffy white peonies and gold-and-white charm city cakes wedding cake, it was all so lovely! i am so glad i was able to photograph this with adaline and grace photography.
congratulations (a few years late!) to this darling couple! and enjoy one of my favorite sets of images.

as destination wedding photographers and filmmakers, we not only get to photograph and film some of the earth’s most beautiful locations, we are able to meet the most amazing people along the way! we have been lucky enough to shoot mexico weddings fairly often, and this gorgeous cozumel wedding is one for the books!
carling and dakota are also d.c. locals, and we actually met a couple of winters ago while shooting this fun new year’s eve inspiration shoot, which was featured on wedding chicks. they were amazing models, so when they asked us to photograph their wedding, we were beyond thrilled!
and did i mention that carling is an incredible photographer herself?! such an honor to be asked to shoot her wedding.
they were deciding between a local may wedding at a beautiful estate’s gardens or a destination wedding, and when their date aligned perfectly with a trip we already had planned to cozumel, mexico, they jumped on the opportunity. and i’m so, so glad they did!
cozumel is such a special island for our family; we have been a couple of times and love the charm of it all. there’s nothing like the cozumel snorkeling or walking to town for some fresh al pastor tacos and queso fundido (los orates has the best of both, by the way!). and don’t even get me started on the ice cream!
after celebrating the birth of their darling daughter this spring, they snuck away to cozumel to elope and for a week of relaxation and enjoyment. we met up with them on a rainy friday morning for their cozumel wedding. and although the initial plan of exchanging vows on the beach was rained out, they found the perfect overhang on the patio of a beautiful hotel and made it official!
these two have such a gorgeous little family and are handling parenthood with such ease. their love for one another is so obvious, and they looked perfect against the soft, tropical cozumel backdrop.
don’t believe me?! see for yourself!
felicidades, you two! we love you!!

we feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to photograph gorgeous destination weddings and elopements across the globe for the past (almost) ten years! it’s been a whirlwind, to say the least, but one of our favorite parts of it has been the amazing people we have met along the way!
we’ve been lucky enough to work with some of the most inspired and talented creatives as destination wedding photographers, and one of our top favorites is sharing some amazing information with you today! mery liccardi eventi is an incredible spanish wedding planner who we’ve had the pleasure of working with on a few occasions. she’s sharing five interesting (and a few surprising!) reasons to get married in spain with you all today alongside some images from a gorgeous elopement shoot we did with her that was featured on bridal musings!
- venues
to marry in Spain means to marry surrounded by centuries of history, the magic and mystery of castles, the beauty of historical palaces, and country estates that reflect the essence of the land. spain offers a great variety of locations to say “i do.” these locations are unforgettable for the couple and their guests alike! the medieval castles, monasteries, and churches in the north of spain are perfect options for the romantics and dreamers.and the province of jaén is the land of the olives! in this area, you can get married in a castle among the greenery of olive groves or in a quaint renaissance town, like úbeda and baeza.the remainder of andalucía offers many spanish spaces in purely arabic style—something you can’t get anywhere else in the world! after eight centuries of rule, the arabs left a strong influence on the region, not only in their architecture but in the food as well!many venues offer the typical spanish gardens as backdrops for ceremonies, with original arab fountains and beautiful natural elements. this is such a romantic option for an outdoor ceremony! - gastronomy
spanish cuisine is, without doubt, varied and unique. thanks to the mixtures of influences of conquistadors, there are so many great cuisines to enjoy and share with your guests! can’t you just imagine a wedding with iberian ham, fresh sangria, and incredible paella? - the climate
many parts of spain celebrate beautiful temperatures year-round. that mediterranean influence keeps things temperate and lovely during many seasons of the year, so you can have a wedding with perfect weather outside of traditional “wedding seasons.” - stay for your honeymoon!
if you choose to wed in one part of spain, you can enjoy an amazing honeymoon by taking advantage of the rest of the precious country! spain offers wonderful options for day trips, such as cosmopolitan cities like madrid and barcelona and historic landmarks like the alhambra in granada or the grand mosque of cordoba. you can easily enjoy a relaxing yet culturally fulfilling honeymoon route in a land full of rich tradition and history. - cost
one might think that getting married in europe has to cost more than getting married in the united states. but without doubt, getting married in spain is one of the most economical options in all of europe! especially in the south of spain, you can have an amazing wedding that might look like it costs $50,000 or more on a reasonable budget. and with a wedding filled with tapas and flamenco on top of that, why wouldn’t you choose spain!?
okay so yeah, who’s ready to book their flights to spain now? we sure are 😉 MIL GRACIAS for sharing your knowledge with us, mery! be sure to check out her beautiful work!

we personally think we’re some of the luckiest in the world. for many reasons (here’s looking at you, miss isabella rose!!)… but in regards to where we live and what we do. as washington dc engagement photographers, we’re able to photograph incredible couples in some of the most incredible locations.
though there are so many wonderful backdrops in the district, many of our clients opt for lincoln memorial engagement sessions. and it never, ever gets old!
mary kate and lance are college sweethearts who met at school in indiana. though they’re getting married in indiana later this year, they wanted to pay tribute to mary kate’s hometown when they visited last fall. because of this, they picked downtown d.c. as their backdrop for their session.
these two are so incredibly kind and so clearly in love. we met up at sunrise on a chilly october morning, and you wouldn’t have ever guessed that they had to get up at the crack of dawn! they looked perfect and were so chipper. you couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces if you tried.
mary kate and lance looked absolutely classy in both of their outfits– the first full of d.c. staples and the second giving a nod to the fall season– and were so natural in front of the camera. they were full of laughter, little jokes, and sneaky kisses, which made their session so fun to photograph. they were so natural in front of the camera. so natural!
we spent the morning chatting about their history and wandering the monuments. after college, mary kate started cheering for the indianapolis colts and lance got his feet wet in the business world in indy. they recently moved out west to colorado together and will be wed in a few short months!
congratulations, you two! thanks so much for letting us document part of your story, and enjoy every moment of your wedding!
