trinh + zack // one frame // denver, co

this year, we’ve had the chance to shoot a variety of different cultural weddings– from indian to jewish to vietnamese to lds. it has been such a pleasure to get to experience so many beautiful cultures and traditions and to get to work with such incredible clients and their families.

i’m in the thick of editing lots of beautiful weddings, but i wanted to share this special moment from the vietnamese tradition; during the tea ceremony, the mother of the groom places jewelry on the bride.

check back soon for more beautiful, cultural wedding traditions!

XO,

tess + will // love story video // new york, NY

sometimes, fate just works itself out, and you end up with the best clients in one of the best cities in the world on the prettiest day of early fall.

we had the incredible opportunity of heading to NYC a month ago (so in love with that city, by the way. so tempted to call ourselves new york city based wedding photographers! but that’s besides the point…) to photograph and film two of our favorite people on the planet. tess + will wanted a non-traditional engagement session; instead of taking “posed” photographs for a few hours, we wanted a lot of candid photographs with a lot of emotion to them, so we decided to do “a day in NYC”-type engagement photo + video session. basically, mateo + i got to chase them all over new york city, photographing and filming their love.

the photos are beautiful. but this film?! woooo. too good. so proud of that husband of mine for his filming abilities.

we love will + tess. they’re the sweetest, and their love is perfect. can’t wait to photograph their washington, d.c. wedding this winter! check back for their engagement photos, too!!

XO,

anna + mateo

  • will + tess // engagements // new york, ny » anna gleave photography - […] tess + will are the perfect match– so adventurous, full of life, and fun. since they’re now new york locals, we met them up in new york city to photograph and film their engagement session. they love nothing more than exploring the city, so we spent the day following them around nyc and brooklyn, photographing them in some of their favorite spots!  we love their sweet smiles + all of the laughter we were able to capture. i dare you to tell me that these photos don’t make you want to head up to the big apple and do some exploring yourself! and while you’re at it, check out their love story here! esteban + elise // engagements // golden, co

elise + i share a love for a lot of things: bright red fingernails. street tacos. shakira. we’ve been friends since eighth grade and have countless happy/hilarious memories together, so obviously i was thrilled when she asked me to photograph her wedding to her sweetheart, esteban. these two may or may not have been my models for a previous styled couple shoot, so they were already pros in front of the camera.

i love their chemistry, laughter, happiness, and love. it’s the kind of love that radiates right out of a photograph and smacks you in the face. you don’t believe me?…

check out their golden, co + lookout mountain engagement session, and see for yourself!

although i’m officially a maryland-based wedding photographer these days, i’ll always call colorado home. and i can’t wait to head back to my rocky mountain state in a month to photograph their wedding!

XO,

anna

p.s. you know what’s even more exciting about this shoot? mateo hopped on board to film it. soooo a little video will be on it’s way shortly, too! hang tight.

liz + taylor // intimate wedding // salt lake city, ut

i don’t really know where to begin with this one– another wedding that has such a special place in my heart.

being destination wedding photographers, we have gotten to explore some pretty beautiful places. in august, we had the pleasure of returning to one of our favorite places and  flying out west to utah in to shoot one of my dear friend’s wedding. liz + i became fast friends in high school; we met at a church camp in san diego, and spent every sunday night on the phone for the next few years. i was a beach bum wannabe, and she was my california amiga. we reconnected after a few lost years in college (turns out, we can still talk until four a.m.!), and so of course, i was completely honored when she asked me to photograph her nuptials this summer.

elizabeth + taylor chapman are the perfect match. even their names sound perfect together; don’t they?! and their wedding day was perfect, too. they chose to have a an intimate afternoon gathering of close friends and family at the gorgeous joseph smith memorial building (formerly hotel utah) — filled with tears, laughter, and the best ice cream/cookie bowls this side of the mississppi. liz is one of the sweetest people that i know; she has this contagious smile (and impeccable taste!), and i’ve never seen her smile bigger than on august 9th, 2014.

i loved getting the chance to get to know taylor + liz as a couple (the nicest people around, i tell ya!), to spend time with them + their families, and to photograph their special day. celebrating your love was the best.

XO,

anna + mateo

floral brunch wedding inspiration // denver, co

as a destination wedding photographer, i’ve had the pleasure of working with incredible talent from all across the country. but i’d have to say that one of my all-time favorite shoots was thrown together a little bit on a whim by me and a few of my best friends. you see, i have some pretty ridiculously talented amigas, and we’ve been dying to work together for ages now! so elise, cada, + i stuck all of our brains together this past spring while in denver and came up with the crazy beautiful idea for a floral wall and a floral infused styled wedding brunch. we teamed up with the (also super talented) duo of ashley kidder of urban safari photography + lauren smith of hourglass events, and a beautiful little creative bundle of joy was born. seriously though, that’s kinda how i feel about this shoot.

not to mention getting to spend the day with my best friend elise styling away, bringing my husband along as a groomsman (and some darling old friends as bridesmaids!), and getting to know lots of local talent.

and to top it off, it was featured on one of the country’s top wedding blogs in august. head over to see the combination of images on wedding chicks here.

and i just really wouldn’t feel right posting all of this without bragging about my girl stephanie from lalé floral designs. she is remarkably talented and was the genius behind the wall execution. her work is absolutely to die for, and i feel so lucky to have gotten to feature it in the shoot!

with so much beauty and happiness and incredible food, you really can’t go wrong.
